Monster Moolah Drops and the Placable Platypus
I don't know about you, but this just seems ridiculous to me - that being the Platypus's moolah drop boosting abilities. One monster in particular is yielding 10x the Moolah it did without the Platypus.
Spoiler:
Why on earth would a monster that normally drops 25-45 Moolah suddenly be yielding 250-450 with a 40-lb Platypus?

Spoiler:
Honestly, it is on the wiki, the formula anyways, it starts off really low on gains, but just bursts later on, keep in mind that the pet in question costed 10$ to even get in the first place, just wait till intensity increasers come out, then it will be insane.

Re: Monster Moolah Drops and the Placable Platypus
I agree. None of the other equipment gives a fraction of the amount the Platypus gives. If the formula on the wiki is correct, the Platypus gives +168% to moolah drops. This is madness, and also sparta.

If it bothers you that much, I can nerf it...

Re: Monster Moolah Drops and the Placable Platypus
dont nerf it, at least not while still in alpha, that is just silly... dont complain about extra moolah... when there is like none at all in the game.

Re: Monster Moolah Drops and the Placable Platypus
It's actually not overpowered at all IMHO. Sure, 168% at level 40 sounds like a lot but it's not.
That said... 168% of 25-40 should result in an extra 42-67 moolah, not ten times as much so perhaps there's an error in the code somewhere that needs attention. Is this actually what's happening or is someone exaggerating? Mack, you're the spading genius, you tell me

Re: Monster Moolah Drops and the Placable Platypus
I just believe if you are going to have a LE item giving that much more moolah drops the other items should be buffed OR the platypus should be nerfed. I believe what Mack says is true: there is just not enough moolah in the game for it to matter, and the moolah that drops is so low anyways. But, I think it should be buffed, because at the moment item drops are much better than moolah drops. If you have all the moolah dropping items, you'd get about 205%, about 255% with the sugar effect. 205% of 25-40 is 51-82 moolah per adventure. You can get more moolah if you farm the cafeteria with no equipment at all (getting a patty roughly every 4 turns) and selling them for 500-1,000 moolah.
I think the item drops on other items should be buffed about 300%, only for moolah drops. So Leprechaun boots would be 9%, flashlight keychain would be 30%,
shiny chain-mail shirt would be 15%, etc.
Thoughts?

Re: Monster Moolah Drops and the Placable Platypus
You dont get more MOOLAH farming the cafeteria, the cafeteria has no moolah. and patties have no set price, tomorrow they could be 100 each and no one buys them, or they could be 100,000 each... shit happens... deal with it.Cowboy wrote:205% of 25-40 is 51-82 moolah per adventure. Re: Monster Moolah Drops and the Placable Platypus
Hmm, Looking at the wiki, i was like, something is wrong here, apparently some encounters never had their moolah drops fixed after you scaled everything. Jogger says 11-12, when it is more like 20-25... resulting in a drop of in the 50-60s. So it all seems to be scaling correctly, and ill probably start fixing the moolah drop wiki errors come tomorrow or so.Gobberwart wrote:That said... 168% of 25-40 should result in an extra 42-67 moolah, not ten times as much so perhaps there's an error in the code somewhere that needs attention. Re: Monster Moolah Drops and the Placable Platypus
Okay, good news. There appears to be no issue. I just tested it, and the results I got confirm that something changed between my first and second tests. Now, sans Platypus, I get around 120 Moolah (only tried once) instead of 25-45.
Re: Monster Moolah Drops and the Placable Platypus
Not saying this is overpowered or anything. But in the hypothetical situation that if a particular item was overpowered, the solution is to nerf that item, not to buff everything else so they're equally overpowered.

Who is to say it is over powered, Pets are suppose to be far superior to equips, tis the natural order, many equips, 1 pet. I do think that if gobb gets around to making normal pets with these skills that they should be exact copies but of only Items or Moolah... this pet being special as the first Token Pet and all. Then any other Mixed hybrid or whatever should only be partial the normal pet's combined skills.

Re: Monster Moolah Drops and the Placable Platypus
Adventure drops and mall prices/availability should never be compared in instances like this. Drops have a set bracket and you can mathematically figure out roughly what you'll gain and use equipment to alter that. Mall goes by whatever the heck people decide to sell/pay on any given day.Cowboy wrote:If you have all the moolah dropping items, you'd get about 205%, about 255% with the sugar effect. 205% of 25-40 is 51-82 moolah per adventure. Also, ditto on what mack just said.
These are all non-LEI/mostly-non-rare items. They don't need THAT much power.Cowboy wrote:I think the item drops on other items should be buffed about 300%, only for moolah drops. So Leprechaun boots would be 9%, flashlight keychain would be 30%,

I personally would vote for upping the Shirt effects for all you go through to get 1. They should be at least 10% like the keychain.
