Hello all, just here to inform that I'm slowly trying to get rid of all the spamming of external sites, etc. on the wiki, may take a few days while I go through every day, but I'm on it

Here are a few thing I learned from my involvement with the Twilight Heroes wiki.
(1) We added an additional captcha whenever someone adds a link to an outside site.
(2) We banned the offender's url when we caught a spambot.

These two steps eliminated most of our spam problems.

Thanks for the tip. Didn't we used to have to get special permission to be able to edit the wiki?

There was a captcha, stopped working or somehow bots found away to get around it though i dont have anyway to access all of the wiki's database, btw back for a while, no college works

In light of tons of spammers being all kinds of spammishly spammy i have asked Gobb to turn the Captcha feature back on till well we can get stuff sorted out. so for the time being new users creating accounts will have to use the Captcha.

Hahah this cracked me up. The big man well hes having some medical issues going on but have no fear hopefully things will workout how he needs them too. Anyways Jupe! Its nice to see someone still checks on this stuff! Ive been cleaning up things on the wiki and im seriously about to blow u the leaderboards. Lol if anyone else sees this...well game on my friends!

LOL jupe I cannot reassure you that gobb is going to start back up all I know is that IM getting back into the swing of things....for some odd reason....hmmmmmmmmmmm

At least the wiki is going that is something, and I've posted twice in a day here and normally I've been going months without posting...clearly I've exceeded my quota.

Haha nice Sporty. Well ive mentioned to the Gobb gods about getting the Captcha feature fixed and implemented back onto the wiki. Until that is done, which there is no timeline, its just a never ending fight with the spammers. I have added some content tho. Maybe if people start playing again ill have some help getting rid of all the spammy spam spam. Till then well its just going to happen.

I just got done upgrading the Wiki to a newer version which should help with the spam issue. I'll put up a separate post about it in a minute.

FYI, over in Twilight Heroes, the spambot problem got so bad that we required admin permission to open a wiki account.
Eliminating all of the randomly-generated stuff took a while.
It was ridiculous.
