Compartment deletion causing an undesired effect?

Think you've found a bug? Here's the place to talk about it. It might actually get fixed.

Compartment deletion causing an undesired effect?

Unread post by Deo » Tue Feb 02, 2010 2:13 am

I know that if you delete a compartment, beit a showcase or stash compartment, that the items contained in the compartment will be destroyed... first of all bug or feature...?
And if it is a feature i am pretty sure it gobbles up token items as well as normal ones.... I may have tested this by accident...

Also I am not having this bug... as it says items will go to "Default" and they did for me.

If this is actually happening, then yes, it's a bug and quite a serious one. As I said to you by email though, I've tested multiple times and can't reproduce that behaviour. The items just get moved to the default compartment, which is what's meant to happen.

Can you please give us some more detail (ie. exactly how to reproduce the problem)?

What concerns me most is, if this isn't the cause, then where DID your missing token item go?

Ok, so that's some very sloppy coding on my behalf. Rest assured that I've been given a stern talking to and any further incidents like that will result in me sacking myself. Or something. In any case, the problem's been fixed so it can't happen again.

Anyway, while that's a nasty and confusing bug, it only results in compartments going missing temporarily. No items are actually destroyed in the process, and as you saw, restoring them was actually fairly straightforward.

It *still* doesn't explain where your missing LEI went, and it's pretty critical that we find out. I've sent you an email for the next round.

I will presume i 'mislaid' it. it seems the most plausible explanation to me to be honest so we shall call the case closed!!

Good job on not firing yourself... this time... ;)

Yeah, this time. Seriously, I'm fairly disappointed with my performance though, and I'm on notice.
