Senora Shakes chat effect side effect

So I posted something in chat about a song Soda played on RFX and it was to the effect of:
"Good. F***ing. Song!"
But when it echoed in chat, the bang (exclamation point for you non-techies) was green along with the "Si, senor." chat effect that was appended to it.
So what caused the "bang" to change green along with the chat effect??? (The bang was in fact part of what I had physically typed.)
