Band: Choi Byung-Do
Album Name: I have to use earplugs?
I thought the album name was very ironic. Our music is so bad, you need earplugs!

...and the final step is to create a tutorial to teach n00bs how to paste a Flickr photo into a phpBB message board. (That hopefully doesn't require copying the potentially copyrighted image to another website.) Seriously. Am I just missing something obvious?

idk, i just took the original link and image embedded it. if it won't let you do that, you could always save the image and upload it onto a third party hosting server like
http://www.imageshack.us then embed that.

For copyright reasons, that is precisely what I would like to avoid. I know it sounds ridiculous, but that's just the way I am.
Tell me more about this "image embedding."

image embedding is what everyone here has done, using the IMG feature of the forums. It takes a URL link in the (IMG) brackets and shows the image, if you aren't comfortable posting the image, just post the URL link so people can click it to see the image.
and with imageshack, the images are uploaded in a way where only the UPLOAD-E can share the link. It isn't like photobucket where the image is there to be share in a photo album like setting under a users name identifier.

Whisky Romeo Zulu
Our Only Commitment to Others
(Okay, I had to do a little digging, but I found the actual image's filename as opposed to the "spaceball.gif" that you get when you try to copy it.)

Do this:
After clicking the random link, look at the caption below the image you want (you could also look at the alt text); either memorize it or copy it.
Next, right-click and View Source.
Then, do a search for the above mentioned text. This should put you in it's corresponding <a href...> tag.
The next tag is <img src="...">; that's the link you want. Paste it into your address bar just to be sure.
And remember, you can always (and should) select "Preview" below to make sure it is displayed.

I did this about a year ago(I think...time flies when you're not paying attention), and came up with the band name 'Religious Leaders of 1905' and album title 'One Degree Below Your Means'. I'm too lazy to post the image, but I assure you it kicked ass. Just imagine 1920's gangster-types shooting at each other with laser guns...now imagine the exact opposite of that, but with a little more awesome sauce slathered on top. Oh, and a dead hot chick.

I said 'dead', not 'undead'...heh It's actually a downward view of a balcony in like, an office building, with stairs going down one side and a dead chick laying on the ground(cuz I mean, what else is a dead person gonna do on the ground? Er...nevermind...don't answer that).
