Who breaks in to a house and doesn't steal anything?
So I came home from work today and noticed that my storm window by my front door was up, the screen was down, and the inside window had been closed with the curtain caught underneath it. I checked the doorknob. Locked. I got my phone ready in case the invader is still inside and I unlocked and opened the door. Nothing was amiss. I have a stereo cabinet in front of the window with a bunch of crap on top of it, but nothing was out of place (You wouldn't be able to climb through the window without knocking most of it down). I looked around the room. Computer is still there, Wii, PS3, DVD player, stereo. All still there. Even our jar of money was still there. So now I'm trying to figure out why someone would attempt to get into my house, reconsider (we have a dog that may have scared the vandal off), and then actually take the time to (half-assedly, mind you) close the window and the screen but not the storm window. Or, if they did do something and I just haven't noticed it yet. Or if even they're still in the house, hiding. (Scary!) Also not sure if I should file a police report about it or not.
Probably won't get any sleep tonight, now.

Maybe a quick scouting for a real robbery? Worth reporting.

Do inform the police. The officers for your area will then be aware there is a problem and just maybe, you might help prevent a neighbour's home being done over.

yeah, sounds like something scared him. Definitely inform the cops of the intrusion so they don't stay in your neighborhood.

Definitely inform the cops if you have not already

I watched Dane Cook once. After I washed the blood out of my ears and extinguished the flaming pile of glass and plastic that used to be my tv, I decided I probably shouldn't do that again.

I agree, I don't like listening to some guy scream non-funny things at me and expect me to laugh.

That's in Oregon, but maybe it's the new planking and it's taking over the country by storm?

I never thought of that. Maybe they just stole my WEP key...? I should probably change that... But then I'll need to reset every single wireless device in my house.

Maybe they stole a pair of underwear or a sock.

Or maybe they didn't. I'd be more concerned if they left it behind when they were... finished.
