Contest! Tagline needed. Win a custom item!

Unread post by Gobberwart » Tue Feb 05, 2008 4:46 pm

**DEADLINE EXTENDED TO ROLLOVER ON 2/23**

OK, so the game needs a tagline, and I'm prepared to offer up a prize for the best suggestion.

What's a tagline? It's like "An adventurer is you!" in ToG. Paradox needs one.

Everyone who suggests a tagline will receive, oh I dunno, something awesome, like a Token of Appreciation or something. And now those can be traded for stuff, that's kinda cool.

And if I select one of the entries as the official Paradox tagline, then not only will you get to see your tagline everywhere all over Paradox, but you'll get something even awesomer.. umm, more awesome. Probably a custom (unique) item of some kind.

I need submissions in this thread by rollover on 2/9, and please note that, if you submit a suggestion, you agree to let me use it however and wherever I like. Isn't that great?

Get your thinking caps on!

How about something like "To infinity and [edited to avoid getting sued for copyright infringement, but I think you know where we're going with this]"?heh
Or maybe "Time is for the weak."

If TARDIS = Time and Relative Dimensions in Space, then...

P = Passing
A = And
R = Relativity
A = Are
D = Dimension(s), Dimensional, Dimensionally
O = Over, Outside of
X = Time, or Crossing (same symbol works for both)

There are some great ideas coming in, but it was a bit of a slow start so I've extended the deadline rollover on Feb 16. Keep thinking :)

Sorry guys, but while there are some good ideas here, I'm not blown away by anything just yet. Deadline extended ANOTHER week.

Remember, it needs to be short, snappy, relevant and memorable.

While "Paradox! The Musical: Ya got a minute?" DID make me laugh...I'm sure it's not sufficient for a tag line...and that makes me sad.

Being late can be a good thing...

---

Out of time? Nope. Just gas.

---

Pick a millennium. Any millennium.

---

I can has time?

---

Oh the irony of do-overs...

---

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

---

Time comes to those who mess with stuff.

---

I wanna go again!

---

Bring some spare batteries.

---
---

Maybe I'll come up with some more later...

I have been thinking about this and thought I might add a couple that focus more on the musical element of the title so how about ' The hills are alive ... ahhhhh' a reference to the Sound of music but it may not be obvious enough (maybe there can be some musical notes to help) so maybe ' The hills are alive, with the sound monsters [sorry it is a little basic but I can't think of anything that sounds much better but ensures it is relevent so it is interchangable with other game related things]' Then I thought I might add one that focus on the time element such as 'Are you ready for yesturday?' More to come if I can think of any in time. I wanted some that might focus in the paradox aspect of the title and maybe some that focus on other musicals.

!) It's NOT(lob) a musical.

2) Since it IS part of the title, we've GOT to reference it somewhere. LOL

I'm still giggling over the idea...If not the tagline, we have to put musicals in here somewhere. Time travel. Although not time travel, my first thought of reference is Rocky Horror? And if we're going to reference (at least through relation) Monty Python, Spamalot is a good idea....maybe a drop from the Lunch Lady in the cafeteria?

I know this touches on other threads. So kick me.

So, it appears to me that in the true spirit of time travel, Gobb is refusing to bind this "contest" to time constraints. Way to go, buddy! Way to kick time in the nuts.=o)

Leap years are no longer an issue. (or "no longer a problem.")

If you're looking for a tag line that covers both paradoxes AND musicals, this is THE perfect combination of both and a fantastic reference. If any of you know Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Pirates of Penzance," you know where I'm coming from. If not, you should check out this little segment from Act II.

http://math.boisestate.edu/GaS/pirates/ ... tes18.html

If further explanations are needed, wiki the opera.

LMAO! The term "squirrel-grip" comes to mind as well.

Seriously though, there are some ideas here that I sort-of like but nothing has yet quite hit the nail on the head (or in the nuts), and so as far as I'm concerned this contest can stay open until it does.

I'll probably do something about rewarding participants fairly soon, but I'm still to find *THE* tagline.

I'm with Elljae though, Wolf's offhand comment is about the closest so far. No, really. Nice work Wolf considering that wasn't actually a suggestion. Anyone else?

Time is just a mindset.

Time is just an experience.

Time is just a game.

Time is how you look at it.

Time is whatever you make of it.

Paradox: It's about time!

Paradox: Where time is everything.

We stick our tongues out at passing time.

We can experience all the time in the world.

Paradox: Where passing time is unpredictable.
