Oh Elljae, you're such a card :)

Try as I might, I'm with soaK.. I can only see her swinging one way - clockwise. According to the site this came from, if you can see her going clockwise, you're using your right brain... anti-clockwise left brain. If you can make her switch at will, it apparently means you're a genius. Which is just stupid, but meh, good for you unknownZ :D

As a further thought, why is everything always happening at will. Switch at will? Fire at will? Poor Will, what did he do to deserve the abuse? Oh, and Bill Posters... he's always being prosecuted. Anyone know what he did?

Dammit, you had to say that, Gob, didn't you? Now I'll try to spend the rest of my day(s) trying to make her change direction

I just imagine her going the other way and she switches, a little trick is to mirror the movement with your finger then to change your finger to go the other way and genrally the image will follow well at least that works for me :)

FINALLY managed to get her to go anti-clockwise... by covering everything but her head with my hand and concentrating really really hard.

I think the problem I have with seeing it going anticlockwise is that the shadow of her feet shows one foot coming closer to the viewer during a rotation, which could ONLY happen if she was spinning clockwise. If she was spinning anticlockwise, then the shadow would appear further away. Wouldn't it?

And for the records: I was the first to mention boobies in this thread. Rest assured that any appendages were given ample consideration.

Cool. I've been staring at this for a while, and I've finally managed to switch her spinning by complete will. Sometimes it takes a few extra revolutions, but it's really neat. And rather disorientating. The biggest problem is when she's spinning clockwise, your perspective is from slightly above her waistline, but when you switch to anti-clockwise, the perspective switches to just below her waistline and she'll start leaning a little to the left. Because the dancer completely changes orientation, your brain does not want to accept that and keeps her spinning in the same direction. Focus on just her foot that's extended out. You'll see it moves in an elliptical pattern. When spinning clockwise, if the foot is in the higher position, it is perceived to be behind the dancer. When the foot is in the lower position, it appears to be in front of her. To get her to switch, focus on the foot, but tell yourself that when the foot is in the lower position, it's behind her, and when it's higher, it's in front. Hopefully that'll work for you. It's how I do it.

I agree with Gobb that the shadow is a relatively significant matter...however, I disagree with him in regards to why. Actually, I don't REALLY disagree with him about WHY it's significant, only that the shadow makes more sense if you see her spinning counter-clockwise(that's right, I refuse to play your Australian Let's-Change-All-The-Words-Just-Because-We-Want-To-Be-Different-From-The-Rest-Of=The-World-So-We-Can-Feel-Special-Kangaroo-Didgeridoo-Put-Another-Freakin'-Shrimp-On-The-Barbie game). After watching for a minute, switching her direction a few times(yes, I'm a genius, but we all knew that already), the shadow started to look all wrong when she was going clockwise.

Finally I made her turn directions!!!!! The secret to get her to switch for me was to watch the foot and the shadow.

I can only see clockwise, I'm myopic and colourblind, which may be why I'm biased on the clockwise side.

If trying to make her change direction frustrates you so much you ought to do something more rewarding, like staring at her boobs..

I have figured out this puzzle. It's both. But what I mean is although you can mentally make her shift directions if you focus of her chest (:D) Or waistline at the moment she stops she goes counter clock wise.

Well I just called the other half over to stare at this with me, we are both seeing her move completely differently. Anticlockwise for me, clockwise for him, and then she started switching around on us!
He was getting very frustrated at me :D Yelling at me that she was facing me when she wasn't and so on!
