If you could make a personalized custom item...

Unread post by jupider » Mon Dec 29, 2008 10:44 am

...what would it be? Keep in mind that it should stick to the theme of the game and not be something that astronomically overpowered. And who knows, maybe one of these might end up in our inventories. (Hint, hint)

Here's mine:

You're fighting a Train.

It's back in the atmosphere from it's soul vacation, and apparently found you. Looks like you're in it's way.

While it's telling the story of a man who was too afraid to fly, you get the jump on it.

(attack - miss)
You attempt to attack, but you miss it while you were looking for yourself out there.

(attacked - miss)
It checks out Mozart while it tries Tae-Bo, but misses, even though the wind nearly sweeps you off your feet.

(defeated)
You finally dance along it's lighted way, and send it back to the Milky Way.

You receive an item: Drops of jupider
description: "You're not entirely sure where on jupider these drops came from, but just to be sure you keep them away from your other stuff."

---
I like it.

Here's Mine:

Your fighting a Hel

You have absolutely no idea what a Hel does, is or if it showers. Maybe it's a internet thing. But you do know it's going to get the jump on you!

Attack:Miss It tries to flame you but them grumbles something about Mod Mobile.

Attack:Miss It tries to complain, but you tell it to shut the Hel up.

Attack: Hit It complains to you until the cow's come home.

Defeated: You stomp on it's corpse and look for loot. Finally, it SHUT UP!

You obtain Doctor Hel:

Made out of a mixture of ingredient's approved by Heliosa, mixed with a secret ingredient and carbonated with Kitten farts. Tastes like sweat.

You gain 10 turns and 1 bladder!

You gain 10 Brains!
You gain 10 Brawn!
You gain 10 Bravado!

You're fighting a Jogger's sister.

As you spend time searching for chewed gum under benches, you encounter a jogger's (by all means) sister, angry to see that you're violating her space.

As it pulls out some pepper spray from her bag, you get the jump on her.

(attack - miss)
You attempt to attack, but she gives you a lecture on Female Rights and how horrible jail is.

(attacked - miss)
She was about to spray you when she saw a kitten in a tree.

(attacked - hit)
She sprays you in the eyes and kicks you in the groin. You're lucky that she didn't-- oh wait, she did. Jerk-ess!

(defeated)
You appear to be satisfied on defeating some jogger's sister. You check her purse if there's any loot.

You receive an item: Pepper Spray
1-hand projectile type ranged weapon
description: A fancy perfume bottle in which a woman placed melted pepper in. It smells like that Indian Food from the other street, and Summer Breeze at the same time.

A ring or cloak of invisibility would have same effect as say a fake beard with a secondary effect like one to three times a day
it would allow you to escape a combat without losing a turn

and with a twist and turn he is no longer seen
as the monster swings they find there whiffing air

Mischief Dispenser:
This dispenser allows you to mess with peoples chat messages. Become a pest! Make People hate you!

Like their could be a "1337" effect that "makes peeps talk lik n00bs)

Just a Idea

I think that suggestion would probably only serve to irritate and annoy many people and is probably not the best option for community growth.

*points at "Personalized custom item" topic title* Or it could be adapted for more "safe" chat effects. I don't know. Just putting it on the table.

Code: Select all

A "Personalized Custom Item".

You find an item on the floor. It is dedicated to ________________.
                                                   name of person

The item contains a description of ________.
                                      pun

You're quite amazed how the ________ magically fits your ________.
                               pun pun

You decide to ________ it up. Soon the ________ glows a bright ________. You're hardly ________.
                 pun pun pun pun

In the end the _________ makes you ________ about the ________.
                  pun pun pun

You ________ some more before ________ ________ to the ________ with ________ on your ________.
pun pun pun pun pun pun

Oh ________.
     pun
Needed to put it in code otherwise the 'pun' text would all be aligned without the spaces.

Also I like your Train references Jupider. lol.

What I meant was for a personal custom item, basically take your name. Then make 50 million puns on your name on the item.

It's true.

Personally, I'd spring for this:

Meticulous teeth

As any well versed adventurer can testify, you lose a lot of teeth heroing. And what could better deal with that, than a new faceful of beautifully handcrafted pearly whites? A beautifully handcrafted set of DIAMONDY whites, that's what. Also, Rincewind.

Intrinsic Effect: Shiny smile: having a faceful of diamonds really seems to make things want to get all up yo grill, but they also seem impressed by your wealth. By which I mean they give you more of it.
(+5 to monster level, +5% to money drops)

Also, as a possible entry for Gobb:

Sweet Love Squash

There's something about a happy face on a happy pumpkin... in front of a happy man. No one really wants to know what that thing is, though.

Intrinsic effect: Conspicuous lack of pants: With a pumpkin like this, who needs pants?!? (The answer answer is you. you need pants.)

Prevents the wearer from equipping any other items.

By the way Gobb, I'm never going to stop mocking you for that picture.

Item Name: Plutonium Pocket Watch (Offhand)
Description: This has to be the most dangerous creation in the history of the world. And yet security would still rather let you take it on the airplane than your bottle of water.
Defense: 50
Effect: +1 to all equipment that give +turns at intermission

References: Airplanes. Plutonium is dangerous, folks!

(The idea for this item was made in '05 for those of you who think it's a copy of the wiki-watch, but no one's ever actually made it. >.>)

i wonder why...

seems underdone in the description area... stomach+bladder/equipped... seems horrible... this would trump equipping anything other than Promise Rings (not counting the watch, cus it isn't openly available to everyone)... and Promise Rings are suppose to be over-kill if i'm correct. You could even have all the possible gear and it would still give 5 turns right now. with max gear(12 items) it would still give 3 turns(all this considering you eat and drink of course if you are using rollover gear, odds are you eat and drink max). Seems a bit much.

Do you have photoshop? If so, do this:

1. get a picture
2. use the lasso tool to surround the image you want to use
3. copy it
4. new image
5. paste
6. center
7. resize to 40x40 pixels

that's what I do hope it helps

All items have been made transparent except the orange slices. The transparent images are on my computer until a point in time that I upload them. Probably in the next few days.

Image

Orange Generator (Device)

Description: This ancient cloning device still has a shred of a sacred fruit, the noble Paradox orange. Since then, the gods have committed herbicide on them because they flew too close to them. But with this, you could make a whole orange field!

When Installed: You really don't want to pay the electric bill for this cloning machine, so you run a few extension cords to your neighbor's house. It may not be green, but it certainly saves you green!

When Used: You hit the large red button. You're pretty sure it will either turn on the device, or destroy the world. Luckily, an orange pops out.
Drops:
- Orange (100%)

References: The story of Icarus, the man with wax wings that flew too close to the sun. Zammorak's store and general hobby, Orange Field. Green engergy, as well as American money being green. The big red button is generally hooked up to a nuke.

Notes: Cannot be traded, cannot be discarded, and is a permanent device once installed. Using this device requires 10 MP, but can be done as many times per days as the owner desires.
-----------
Image

Orange (Miscellaneous)

Description: Oranges are orange, roses are red. You had best peel this, else you find yourself dead.

When Used: You get to work on peeling that orange. Wow, nice! You got the whole peel off in one piece!

Drops:
- Orange Peel (100%)
- Orange Wedges (100%)

References: Zammorak's store and general hobby, Orange Field. The poem that begins with "Roses are red, violets are blue..." General mob threats.

Notes: Peeling an orange takes one turn. Cannot be auto-sold, cannot be discarded, can be traded.
-----------
Image

Orange Wedges (Food)

Description: This is a lot like a wedge of cheese, except it isn't collected by Heath Ledger.

When Eaten: You eat the orange. It's a shame you can't find anything to rhyme with that sentence.

Drops:
- You gain 10-25 turns.
- You gain 3 fullness.

References: Cowboy's cheese collection. Orange doesn't rhyme with anything.

Notes: Cannot be auto-sold, cannot be discarded, can be traded.
-----------
Image

Orange Peel (Miscellaneous)

Description:
-----------
Orange Cape (Accessory)

Ingredients:
- Orange Peel (100)
- used chewing gum (50)

Turns Required to Make: 250

References: Used chewing gum is rather sticky, and can be used to stick things together.

Notes:
-----------
Image

Orange Cape (Accessory)

Description: The good side is that this cape's delicious scent will cover up most of the disgusting smells around you. The down side is that people will suddenly start asking you if you were bitten by a radioactive orange. I guess what I'm getting at is that you should shower more.

Defense Rating: 80

Bonus: +15% chance of Nombats, -5% chance of fumble

References: In the comic book series "Spiderman", the main character was bitten by a radioactive spider, which is what gave him his super powers. The zest in an orange peel is quite good smelling, but the fact that you haven't showered in a few days is keeping all of the monsters away.

Notes: Created by combining one hundred orange peels and fifty used chewing gums.

Where/how is the orange maker obtained?

I think orange wedges are a bit overpowered. Easy to be obtained (10 mp is hardly much, 1 smrtpills is over 10 mp and 240 moolah), plus they are 3.3-8.3 tpf. That's an average of 5.83 which I believe is better than an AH.

And I can make the cape , the peels, the wedges, and the orange transparent for you later. I don't know what i'm supposed to be looking at with the orange generator.

How is it supposed to be obtained? This is a page for custom items. You know, those one-of-a-kind things that magically show up in your inventory when you please The Powers That Be. Also, the oranges are at an average 5.5 turns per fullness. You forgot to take out the one adventure for peeling the orange. That compared to the 5.8 turns per fullness shows oranges to not be as good.

Also, here's a full-size version of the generator, if it helps.

Yeah but you could buy them really cheap... 1 turn to make them opposed to 7 min for AHs. if you use the same logic than AHs give you -1.2 turns... and the full size image helps... but I need my computer with photoshop so i'll do it later :P
