chat function
via right click or a drop down menu, would it be possible when scrolling over or clicking the <roomname> to see who all is in/listening?
or am i just over-complicating?

Re: chat function
actually, here's a better idea:
add a right-click menu to room names, so you can /whois, /join or /switch with a click. How's that sound?

Re: chat function
Oh yeah, and /listen.
Re: chat function
Speaking of chat...
Could there be an option to shut off the chat in-activeness thing? It's kind of annoying to have to keep on refreshing chat when you're sitting alone in chat.
Could we also have a /lurk or an /away-from-keyboard sort of command? It could maybe strikethrough the playername? That way chat knows if someone is away from the keyboard?

Re: chat function
The chat inactiveness thing is there to prevent chat being full of people who aren't paying attention, and will be staying. You don't have to refresh, though, just type "/w" or something now and then. That'll keep you active. Or, you know, talk to yourself. If nobody's there it can't annoy anyone.
As for the /away command... I'll take a look at it. You'll still timeout after 15 minutes of inactivity, but it might be handy.

Re: chat function
I was recommending and option to shut off the chat inactiveness thing so users wouldn't be pressured into using a greasemonkey script or something to prevent inactivity. The people that it will actually effect will just use greasemonkey...wouldn't that cause more of a burden?

Re: chat function
I know what you were recommending and I said no. It's there for a very good reason and it will be staying.
I'm aware someone will no doubt write a greasemonkey script at some point to get around it (after all, it's not *that* hard), but that doesn't mean I'm going to encourage people to log in and wander away for hours.
UPDATE: I know it's also a bit sucky when there's nobody in chat to talk to, and I know that happens sometimes. Hopefully not often.

Re: chat function

Re: chat function
I did no such thing Heli... At least, not one that was ever made public. Ssshhhhhh.
If I had though, I'm sure it would've been amazingly simple, and I'm certainly not going to stop anyone else making one and distributing it if they want. Of course, if chat becomes full of lurkers, I'm gonna get cranky.

Re: chat function
Oh yeah. You only gave a few people that script. I'll shut up now.
