This forum exists so that players can post information about contests they may feel like running.

A well-run contest can be a lot of fun for everyone involved. A poorly-run contest, on the other hand, can cause anything from minor confusion to panic, outrage and rioting in the streets. Ok, perhaps not that, but people can and do take contests seriously. With that in mind, if you want to run a contest, there are a few rules and guidelines that you need to follow:

* Describe your contest clearly. It should be obvious to anyone who wants to participate exactly what's required to enter, how to enter, what the prizes are, and how long the contest will run for.

* Decide on the rules and prizes for your contest before you post it, and stick to it. If there is any ambiguity or confusion regarding the contest, clarify it quickly and clearly.

* If you start a contest, make sure you monitor it from start to finish, and conclude it in accordance with the rules you posted. Don't start a contest and then forget about it.

* Give your post a meaningful title. "Create a song about MYPLAYERNAME - 1,000,000 Moolah Prize!" is a meaningful title. "Contest!" is not. We know it's a contest. We're in the "Contests" forum.

* At the conclusion of your contest, the winner(s) should be posted in your contest thread, and the original post's title should be updated so that people know the contest is closed.

* If your contest involves creating images, do not upload large files to the forum server. Instead, large files should be linked (use Photobucket, Picasa etc.)

* Under no circumstances may fees of any kind (including in-game items/moolah) be required to enter a contest. Attempting to require

* Allegations of scamming are taken very seriously by forum and game moderators. If your contest looks in any way scam-like, you should expect at the very least to be asked some questions. If your contest is clearly a scam, you should expect much, much worse. No kidding. No warnings. No seconds chances.

* As always, the usual rules about spoilers (ie. keep them to a minimum and use spoiler tags where appropriate) apply.
