Login and other problems

I'm currently working on a fairly serious issue related to recent changes. Works perfectly on the dev server but fails dismally in production. Hopefully won't be long.

UPDATE: Apparently, the version of PHP that's installed on our host is broken, hence why it works beautifully in the dev environment and fails badly in production. Everything should now be working fine, but I'm still investigating because I'd really LIKE to be using the broken functionality for security reasons. If there are any further issues, please let me know.
